Found my old car...
Decided to post after being a ghost here for years now after selling my 89'.
Well I was looking through craigslist and decided to search "1989 Camaro" in the north Jersey ads and lo and behold my old Camaro!
Too bad someone did a number on it. Put on an aftermarket hood, ripped the engine/tranny out. It's trashed now.
When I sold it it had a 355 with a T-56, 3.23 4th gen rear and the interior wasn't perfect was it was pretty clean for being tan.
I would buy it back because it was my first car but too many parts are missing to make it worthwhile and in addition to that it's an IROC clone. (It had a bit of rust too) It also had a new coat of paint only a few years before I sold it too. Plus hoodpins?
I will have a thirdgen again someday. I always wondered what happened to my old car. Now I know and I'm not so sure I want to know...
RIP Camaro, another one bites the dust.

Here's a few pictures of her glory days.
I was taking a picture of my first boat when I got it and the Camaro stole the spotlight.

I can probably find a roller in better shape for $500 closer to me. I do wish it was closer to me. A 3 hour ride one way is long if I'm very skeptical on buying it.

That's cool that you found your old car. If nothing else, at least you know what happened to it. I tried to find my first car, an '88 Formula, but I think it is long gone. It was last smogged in 2003. Can't find anything else on it. If anyone knows other ideas, the VIN is 1G2FS21E9JL217934.

I've had three dark flame red third gens: 1987, 1989 and 1988( which I currently have) I love that car, but not the same way I felt about my first, the 1987. I don't have the info on the vin since its been sold now for 25 years and I don't want it back. But I would like to know what ever became of it. I sold it to a dude that worked at the Lyondell Refinery in Pasadena Texas in 1992. Lots of memories with that ride.
Cool that you found yours!
