18" Wheels and how to do it?

I've seen the black convertible Z in Cali with 18's. It looks so damn sweet I've decided to go 18's on my 1LE. I need to know if I can leave my suspension as is (NOT lowered) and do I have to roll the fenders. If so what is the idea of rolling? Ballpene and some body work to the fender edges?? Thanks for the info.

You won't need to roll the wheelwell lip with a stock ride height. The 18" IROC wheels are only 8" wide, and thirdgens can accomodate a 9.5" width normally without any problems. What size tires you thinking about using?

Hi Mubie,
If you intend to keep your car at stock height, then you will not need to do anything to your car to fit the 18's. Yes, I did alot of **** to my car because I think with 18' rims the car needs to be lowered to make them look good.

I did not have to roll my fenders, but there was many other things that needed to be done.

If you are intersted, let me know.

Tommy

it will depend alot on the tire sizes you pick. try to keep the wheel the same diameter as the stock wheels and you will avoid alot of problems (clearance, speedo, odometer). stock height you should have no probs but it will have a small gap.

Theres a couple of pics before I got my car painted on MR. IROC's website under "THE GOOD GUYS CAR SHOW". My car was teal with a primered cowl hood( it also had different springs so it was about 3/4" lower( it was too low )
