I didn't know where else to put this but it is appearance related sort of. I was looking at tachs in my Summit catalog tonight when I got a thought into my head. Why buy a big space taking tach when I could have it on the hood! I mean I think it would look cool as he!! especially w/ the SS hood I want to get. So is there any place that sells custom hood mounted tachs or could I possibly try to find an old Pontiac GTO, Judge or Firebird w/ one, take it off and try to hook it up?

 

Those tachs are availible reproduction, save yourself the trouble and just get a new one. The only problem is that tach is likely designed to work with points ignition, so it might not work right. But if it does it would look bad *** IMO.

 

you would be a very lucky man if you found a stock hood tach from a Judge or a GTO.check out www.yearone.comorwww.ames.com.they both deal in reproduction parts.

 

I just got online to check out one of those places or classicindustries.com. I really think this would be a good looking appearance mod and a bonus if I could actually hook it up!

 

The hood mounted tachs from Firebirds are available in teh classicsindustries catalog, right down to the different red lines for different years. I considered this very same option, but then i got another idea i may try...
