I think someone’s going to get a decent deal on it considering the condition and mileage... can’t wait to see that it goes for... Its one to watch for sure...
Just go into it with open eyes... A purple car says things about it's owner, for it's owner even. Things like "Hey if I'm a male, I'd like to meet up in the Men's Room later for some slap and tickle." It's like an analog substitute from the days before the LGBTQBBQ pride flags, something more bold and clear than the single ear stud earring in the wrong ear. Idk maybe it's not so pervasive anymore what with all the accepted alternative lifestyles and digital communities, and whatnot. Just still seems like a good way to get Jodie Foster Accused at a rest stop Men's Room is all.

I like the purple cars... I don’t know if I could own one, but I’m that way about a lot of colors. I can drool over someone’s car, the condition, the paint, and really appreciate it, but if they offered me a price to buy it at I’d be like, “No thanks I’m looking for a black one”
I saw a guy this summer with a mint purple C4 6-speed with one of those stories of a short lady that bought it and couldn’t drive it (especially when she got older)... Low miles, garaged 25 years and MINT... It really looked cool...
I’m starting to appreciate these colors in my grown adulthood I’d snear at as a kid...
I even like the teal Thirdgens and C4s and even that toothpaste color they had... It’s something different...
By the way Biz, did you end up keeping that black LT4 C4? That was a beautiful car!
It had been sitting 6 years in a garage. The previous owner put a new battery before I bought it, and after sitting 6 years, it fired right up and ran perfectly....even with old gas. It's the best $3 grand I've ever spent in my life....I love the damn thing!
This one? Sold it to a guy in Texas, it had 6659 miles on it.....you should have bought it !!
Lucky guy! I ended grabbing a 40th Vette 6-speed with 30k babied by its owner for 26 years... The guy put blankets under the cover to protect the paint in his heated garage and had all the documentation and even extra original parts just in case. Lots of trophies and 40th Corvette memorabilia... Got the car $5k-7k under book value. IROCs seem to sell over book value. C4s are great deals and great cars! That black one you had ticked all the boxes for me though! You should buy that purple vert so we can see it! Ha ha!
I swear, it's like some days this isn't even THIRDGEN.org.
I usually try to incorporate something Thirdgen related into the posts, but I like to compare the Thirdgen market to the C4 market. I always thought the cars were related and growing up C4s were expensive and sort of this exclusive club... Now it seems tides have turned and we see mint, low mile C4s selling for 1/3 of an equivalent condition and mileage Thirdgen (especially IROCs)... I hope to see this Purple car go through! It’s interesting how prices and perceptions flip-flop...
I always liked the Mali-beauties... My dad had a Chevelle Malibu I always thought was cool growing up and my grandfather had a 1978 2-door green one... You had an LG4 in it?
I'm going to look at (and hopefully purchase) this one tomorrow......
with any luck I will have it back home by tomorrow night....HOPEFULLY.....wish me luck
Suppose we need to start talking about how its just a sticker package, before magazines and speculators say its some special collectors edition to blow up the balloon?

Yep, the "Heritage" edition (option Z03) was not much....
Stripes, some black paint in the headlight buckets, color matched grill on the RS (but not for all colors) and color matched wheels (but could be ordered as silver).
I believe all 1992's were "25th Anniversary" cars with the badges on the dash and hatch.

It is nice to see the later model non IROC's getting some nice $$ now.
Yes Biz, all 92's got the 25th anniversary badge so nothing special there. The Z03 option was kind of the "special edition" for the anniversary year of 1992.
Idk, I could live in a world without Barrett-Jackson and I'd be just fine. It's as authentic as professional wrestling and used car salesmen. It stands as great a chance of pricing me right out of my hobby as it does of making me rich.
A C4 GrandSport hammered for $69k which has people in that community up in arms about “dumb people and their money...”. Maybe there’s some wealthy enthusiasts starting to notice cool cars that stand out?

Yeah, but to someone with money that likes cars they might be willing to pay for that really cool looking car with stripes knowing it’s all factory original and never been sat in and that the paint and stripes are 100% original. Meanwhile the identical car in red with red interior pulls up in identical condition but rich guy isn’t moved to even bid on that one...
That’s how a stupid thing like stripes and badges make a car more “collectible”...
Those Chevy “appearance packages” do seem to have some draw to them as silly as it seems. Anyone can paint their car to match a scheme and put stripes on it but something about having those guys from the factory do it 25+ years ago is just extra special!

Well, I guessed that one right.....it must have been pristine

That's not really what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how people make up tall tales to artificially inflate the value for resale. The 18 gallon tank, and special springs, special engine, etc crap that surrounded the 1LE myth. Completely false 'facts' repeated until they're written into legend. I just wonder what the lie will be about Heritage cars if they're the next bubble. Because sellers will never be honest that it's a sticker/emblem package, they can't stop themselves from making up some story.

Yeah I see what you’re saying... kinda like when people thought they could run faster when they bought new sneakers...
I remember the 1LE hype... back in the day without the internet and never seeing one they were like mythical creatures... Some of that has carried on...
Not too likely to happen. I stopped being a moderator when I didn't have internet access. I really didn't want the responsibility knowing I wouldn't be around. If the forum doesn't need my help, I'm more than happy to shirk the responsibility. Have a hunch that individual forum mods can't combine threads on different subforums, thinking that'd require a global mod (admin) anyway. @JT would know
