Found my twin to my 92 Heritage Z28 in my hometown

Driving past downtown Pflugerville this afternoon saw this 92 red Heritage z28 sitting in the chicken turn lane with hazards on. Told family from a quarter mile away there is my twin.

Dropped off family and groceries and said was gonna go help him.

It was a 92 heritage RS with 32k original miles with a 91/92 z28 wing.

His car died and locked him out. Nice guy and appreciated my offering assistance. His wife and son drove up a few minutes later. He was gonna go home and get spare keys to open doors.

I offered to stay and watch car but his wife was staying. We talked cars for a few minutes and told him I have the same car in a z28.

He also has a brown 78 z28.

He has lived in Pflugerville since 1994 I have never seen it. I told him we have been here since 1996.

Gave him my business card and cell # to call if he wanted to chat about camaros/cars.

Cool! Funny that you haven't ran into each other sooner.

I wonder what went wrong with his car??

He was kind of quiet. Did not want to ask too many questions.
Hopefully he contacts me one day.

Took z28 out today with wife and noticed both the speedometer and odometer were dead. Went for a 7 mile cruise.

Son noticed this months ago when he took it out.

Last 2 times I took it out both worked fine. Short I am guessing or VSS is out. No codes come up.

Wouldn't a dead VSS set the check engine light?

After researching this issue, it should. Might have to go the fixing electronics in cluster.

Thanks to all
