It is a PITA. There are no tech articles I know of about how to change a top. My car has a replacement top and whoever installed it ( done a couple years before I bought it ) did such a lousy job I wouldn't even consider doing it myself. I need a new top in about a year, so I'm gonna take it to a place that guarantees their work.

Find someone with a manual on your car have them scan the pages you need. IF you are going to do it yourself. You could ask a dealership how long it would take them to get a idea. Good Luck

Dont know how much of a difference there is between 89 and 92 but, it's not a pain in the ***, just time consuming. Mine took me about 10 hours to do, maybe 8 had I need not to replace all the padding and weatherstripping.

One tip I have is that make sure it's at least 75 degrees outside. Made a hugh difference in getting th etop to fit correctly.

I just had to repair my top for the winter bafor i get a new one in the spring. My entire back section came unclued from the frame. You could just reach right in! It would flop in the wind and stuff too. It started out gradually, then got really bad. I used 3M super trim adhesive to glue it back to the frame, and it worked great. I believe thats the hardest part about the top... gettin the back glued in perfectly.

Dude! Welcome to ownership fo 92 Z28 convt! I have a registry started of the 1254 made by Chevy. I would really like to add yours to the list. I could use the color, interior color and material, Cd or Cassette, auto or stick, Z03 or not and most importantly the VIN. I need that to figure out were yours came down the assembly line.
Also on the driver side door there sould be an ASC build sticker with a date.
Good luck on the top!
