try that turtle wax polish with the chip stick. i used that on all the pits and scratches in my car and it worked great so that should work. if not find someone that can high speed buff and hopefully that will be the end of it. i work at a detail shop and had brought one of my friends mustang in because it got keyed and we ended up having to wetsand a 99 GT's paint, scary, just hope it doesn't need to go that far. we did manage to get it about all the way out though. hope that helps

If the scratch is through the paint and into the primer or lower, then the only options are to either paint it (sand and repaint properly or touchup paint in the scratch) or live with it.

If it is through the clear, but not the paint, you may be able to feather sand, spray some clear, and lightly colorsand and polish. Not a perfect solution, but probably ok for a daily driver.

If it is just in the clear, do as stated above and have it buffed.

thanks alot yall
i think im going to use touch up paint, and then put on rubbing compound and keep on buffing it, it looks alot better now, after the rubbing compound, so i believe the touch up paint & rubbing compound will be a great combination, i could go to the insurance and make a claim but i don't fell llike it cuz if something more devastating happens then im SOL and my insurance will rise...

A general rule of thumb is that if your nail can catch in the scratch, it's too deep to buff out. It's a general rule though.. Wish you luck on it. Vandalism sucks. Someone keyed my car once, and one day I'll run into him somewhere random, and something random is going to happen.

ok, have you guys heard of gs 27 before? well its on a tv commercial and it WORkS WONDERS, i fixed my camaro and my moms 99 firebird with a nice metallic paint, it's a beauty, i loved the results, you cant even tell there was a scratch there!!! and it was down to the primer...so if you gotta scratch, don't use touch up paint, i did, and it looked stupid, use gs-27, trust me
