custom rims

hey guys, im getting custom rims made for my 89 Iroc, and im planning on doing 17x9.5 (front) and 17x11 (rear). does anyone know EXACTLY how much backspace i should have them built with???
that way i wont have to get spacers. 5x4.75 bolt pattern, stock backspacing is 5" (front) and 5.85" (rear). i was thinking ill need approximately a TOTAL of 6.25" backspace in front and 7" in the rear. can anyone back me up on this??? also, since theyre custom rims, can i have them made with any offset i choose?? the main reason i cant calculate how much backspace ill need is because i dont know about the offset...can anyone help?

thx a million for any info on this.

There are a few people on the board with 17x9.5" rims and I believe most of them are running between 5.25 and 5.5" spacing on the front. I'm not entirely sure about the rears.
