It is what the man has and he is working on it. Like the rest of us. There is no law that says "Thou must havest a V8 in thine Camaro."
What is with your attitude, eh? "I wouldn't even drive it." Maybe you ought to try walking for a couple of years to wipe that smug attitude off your hide.
looks very good but definately needs gfx. im doing pretty much the same thing as you r going right now only im not as far along as you. keep on going it will turn out great, but do consider the gfx and a 350.

I agree with Sitting Bull
As far as appearance goes, that car looks great inside and out.
If it has a V6, it's still a nice looking car and I would rather drive a Camaro V6 than any import car.
I do happen to remember that the TTA was a V6 and one of the fastest Firebirds that were produced. Guess what? It had a V6!
This thread really had nothing to do with what kind of drivetrain he had at all. This is the Appearance and Detailing Sig.
I suppose we all have our opinions, but ImportsRsloths is passing judgement on someone's car that has no basis on the topic!
Please ImportsRsloths, take a look at the interior/exterior of your car, and envision it like that Camaro. I'd personally like to have a really nice interior as well as exterior too!
Instead of starting a flame war, remember what section you are in before you reply, it might be a good idea.

Thanks for the compliments and uh, suggestions. I agree, the car would look sweet with gfx, but I just couldnt bring myself to drill holes in my car. AS for a 350, I'd love to but despite not having all the equipment and facilities to do a swap, I don't think I quite have the know how.
Oh, and
to all you guys that don't think the car is a POS just cuz its a 6!
Oh, and
Damn! It's lookin real nice! Some of you newer guys shoulda seen it before he painted it and did that bodywork himself. Comin' along, man. (assuming it's the same mike with an 86sc..hehe.. so many mikes here)
The TTA is a horrible example. They are the fastest thirdgens ever made STOCK and they look bad as hell to. Yea they have a six, a turbocharged 3.8..... maybe i should have made this clear, he has a 2.8 V6, prolly the SLOWEST thirdgen...... those 2.8's would get beat by the good ol iron duke.... and come on he has a sport coupe and is a afraid to drill holes in it to actually make it look good like ground effects, new front end, a tasteful spoiler etc..... and those wheels, come on........ it still stands i wouldnt even drive it. and for the guy who said it is better than driving a honda. I dunno the honda might actually be faster
but i know one thing, with the honda you could actually pick up fine young ladies in........ I wouldnt even want to take a lady out in that sport coupe

:nono: some people just dont get the point...
should i dis my 92 cuz i have a 305 TBI auto? everyone is manual, TPI, and a 350, but do i care? not everyone has money, time, knowledge on how to soup out their car, the dude has a camaro, who cares if its a 2.8 v6, its still a camaro, and if you say you wouldnt drive it, then why are you driving yours?
because you have a 350? does that make you special? what about all the other guys who have 396's and 383's etc. etc., they would prolly point and laugh at you saying you have a measly 350 and they wouldnt drive you POS...

No need to push it.
He's a contradiction to his own name.
Simple as that.

If all he is into is a musclecar, I am sure he would prefer a rollcage and a metal seat with a 5 point harness. No need to argue about appearance.
Funny thing about his "argument" about "slowmatics" too.
I seem to recall that a lot of the jet fuel dragsters have automatics that are computer controlled.
You want speed, you pay the price.
I know there are several people who have had 2.8 cars and have dropped big blocks in their vehicles.
This flame is pointless. The guy simply has an ego problem.

Just for everyones info....the TTA wasnt just the fastest third gen....it is STILL infact the fastest production f-body....and yes even faster than a ram air LS1
Man you guys need to chill, He asked what everyone thought about his car.... im just clueing him in that he needs to make some BIG CHANGES to it....... and about automatics being slow..... its not even worth argueing about....

I thought that TTA'a run mid-high 13's stock. I have seen many LS1's in teh 12.8-12.9's stock. Also don't forget the 69 SS with the 396BB with 375 hp that was good for 12's too

FlyinLow89, I think that more so depends on where you get your facts at.
The new LS1s have been known to pull a high 12. I've never seen a stock TTA do that.

I really think you've come a long way Mike! It really does look good! I don't know why this thread was led on a tangent, but as far as your car is concerned, it does look very nice.

Wow.. you weren't kidding when you said huge pics
Looks real good (for red).. it's a shame that v6 degrades the appearance of it so much
. Maybe one day I'd like to make my camaro look close to that nice (if it last that long).
Here's 10mins of killing time for ya too...

The TTA is NOT the fastest thirdgen. The Firehawk was. It out performed it in every category.
However, the TTA is very easily modified to be better because of 50/50 weight distribution and a more tuneable motor. But each car stock vs stock, the hawk will win.

I didn't paint the car myself. When took it to the shop, I told them I wanted it bright red, GM code 81, WA number 8774.
When I was talking to one of the guys at the shop, he told me they love getting in cars like ours. A nice change from all the mini-vans, SUVs and econoboxes out there. Guess when they get a nice car they put that extra effort into it. Hey they even sprayed my wheel wells with undercoting and painted the metal around the hatch glass, and I didn't ask for it, figured I'd save some cash and do it myself.
Thanks for the compliments guys!

Hey Mike... sorry if you misunderstood my sarcasim... thankfully Sitting Bull caught what I was getting at and said something
I personally think your car loks much better that when you started and as I said before.. hopefully someday my camaro can look close to that granted it lives that long.

Mike, your car looks absolutely stunning. That's the kind of Camaro that turns my head.
I, myself, have a 2.8 L Sport Coupe, and I love it to death.
My car has a lot of life to it, and I intend to keep it going as long as I possibly can : ) (Long live the Sport Coupe)
Only thing missing from that car of yours is the hood emblem
!!!! (I went without one for a long time)

Mike's BEOOTIFUL Baby
Mike, no matter how or what you want to power your baby, and whether it has GFX or not, it is irrelevent: she is gorgeous and like most all of us here, you love her to death. I myself don't know the how's of body work but she shines something heavenly. Fantastic work, keep it up. She is super beautiful and would be honored to ride in such a Chevy. I too looked at a set of 4th gen seats and will one day make the change. Job well done!
