seat/carpeting

A rather stupid 'friend' of mine left a car battery on my back seat while I let him borrow it while I was out of town, and guess what! It leaked! heh. Anyways, my back seat and part of the carpet melted. I was wondering if anybody knew how much these things cost. It's not the entire rear seat, it's just one of the cushions you put your butt in, and the carpet piece is the one that runs from right underneath the rear seat backrest to the front of the car.

New carpet is gonna cost you if you want stock or better quality, somewhere to the tune of $250-$350. The rear seat will be around $150 new, they come in sets for the whole rear most of the time, or you could buy used, or have a interior shop redo that one seat. Lotta $$$ in those interiors. What kind of seat/color was it?

Or you could cheese out and cover the carpet with floor mats and get some sea covers, alot cheaper.... If I were you Id be cleaning out blood from the interior and trunk cause your "friend" would have been fuken dead, after he paid me... BTW the carpet will take alot of time and TEDIOUS annoying work to install

I paid $8 for a right rear seat bottom at the bone yard in SoCal. It had a spare tire on it and other junk from inside and outside the car on it. I used a little carpet cleaner (can form), wet sponge, and it came up looking new. In your case no cleaner is going to help the meltdown. I would scrounge the bone yards and see what you can come up with.

would agree with all above posts, they've obviously been there and done it.

I've recently replaced all my covers and carpet, and would re-iterate :

1. If you only want to replace one rear seat, find a breakers. My experience is that finding the right colour that has not shaded/faded in the sun is difficult.
2. Replace all the back covers and seats, with the same issues as above.
3. Replace all front/rear covers, showing crappy faded carpet.
4. Replace all covers and carpets, showing crappy faded door trims and dash,
5. etc....etc.....
