removing black piece on door panel

ok you know the black plastic piece on the top of the door panel that is usualy cracked in most 3rd gens?? well i cant figure out how to get it off i have the door panel off and i see that there is metal washer things screwed onto plastic screws, but how do u get the washers out?? i tried pulling one of them and i just broke it, please help!!

I tediously took some plyers and unscrewed them you might have someone help you with a blade screwdriver to pry up on them when unscrewing.
