I need some help with a odd ball part...
Well I am in the process of completely restoring a 83 L69 to absolute perfection. Today I sand blasted and painted the interior side of the rear filler panel and rear hatch release. The one part that I can not find anywhere and now need to replace is the plastic receiver on the latch. The 82-85 had a special latch that locked it and had a plastic guide for the post that comes down next to the loop. This is on the filler panel side and helps to line up the latch as it comes down. I hope I explained this good enough. Anyone with a 82-85 would know what I am talking about. So can someone with access to part numbers please look it up? The dealer is not interested in looking up a small plastic guide for a 83

I tried to get that piece for my 83 not too long ago... no luck. At least the dealer I was at was willing to try, maybe because I was buying some door rubber and other $$$ stuff. It's not shown in the parts blow-ups they supply the parts computers. They even walked out to the lot with me and we looked at a bunch of cars to try to find something. So I'm having to put up with that obnoxious rattling noise until I can find some sort of substitute.
Hummm
That is not good. It sucks because there is no part number on it. Mine is in fairly good shape but I am going for perfection. Looks like I might be forced to hit the bone yards and see if I can find one in decent shape. Can anyone with the program try and take a look please? I know there have been things that I have had to search for numbers on or buy from Classic Industries because a 20 year parts counter veteran says it is not listed. Sometimes people miss it and others find it right away. Possibility??? I hope... Please help
