Because they're newer, and in much better shape than a junkyard'd 3rd gen's seats.

But like I've said before, don't just look at F-bodies when looking for seats, look at ALL GM seats, chances are, the seats will bolt to our seat rails! The buckets I have now were the same ones that came in my Firebird to begin with (the trans am seats, center is one color, sides are another, with separate headrest and map pocket on the back of the seat)- but I pulled them from a Pontiac 6000 Station Wagon S/E! I guess the special edition of the wagon included trans am seats. Anyway, look at ALL cars....

Thats right. Most all GM seats will bolt onto each other seat tracks. I took an extra set of Firebird Seats and bolted them into my dads Sunbird.

Just be sure to check the measurments on the width of the seats. So you don't cram them between the console and the door.

i wouldn't ask this if I didn't have three kids, but will a three-seat bench seat fit in the rear of our cars?

I sure if you take measuremens you could find one that fits. But the seat might be way to high for saftey reasons. I was going to mention maybe you could customize a seat for a 3rd party in the back but our back area is so small to begin with. I say leave the wife at home and take the kids out. :lala: I also bet you could fit a small kid in the rear compartment. Naw all joking aside and its time for me to get home from work. I sure there could be some way you could fab. up a middle seat just using the 2 lil buckets that are in the back. Or if you were really creatitive take the carpet out and trim the middle hump, might not work though cause of the drive train. If you really want to i would look into it. This is my Friday side comming out right now and i am glad i get to sleep tomorrow to 1 till the car shows come on tv

I'm probably the only person on this board out of 14,000 people who has taken a 500 mile trip in the trunk of a thirdgen. :sillylol:

Ew... I'm glad we didn't get rear-ended.

I once had two 6' tall guys riding in the hatch of a mazda rx-4. It was my friend's cousin's car, he couldn't drive a stick, so after he stalled the car for the 8th time, I told him to get out and let me drive. Two of his friends asked if they could have a ride "just up the street", so we figured, why not?
