i have an 86 z28 w/t-tops. the bar that is mounted in the center of the roof, whcih is the piece that the two tops rest against is rooted completely. does anyone know wher i can order a new one, or buy one used that is ion good shape or salvagable shape?

These cars are pretty popular in the scrap yards around here. I've seen at least 15 t-topped camaros in and around 86 with the bar you are asking about. Call up a few scrap yards or better yet..take a trip down. I'd bring a cordless drill to drill out the possibly rusted in screw that hold it in place.

 

New one from the dealer is a hundred bones. I don't have the part number handy, but a search may turn it up for you.
