Is it that easy to change the guages?
Hey guys, ive been checking out the "The Poor mans guide to white gauges", I was wondering, is it that easy to do?
Ive seen many post on here about there gauges going all whack after they change it, and that they dont read correctly?
And I really want to change mine VERY BADLY, but I mean heck if its gonna mess things up I dont wanna bother with it.
I mean my cars engine is messed up right now, and its just sitting here so im thinking this is the best time to work on it, on small things like that.
I was also gonna paint my gfx black (from gold).
I was also gonna do some body work, but that will wait until I get some money for a paintjob. First I gotta get the engine replaced.
Any other intresting ideas I can do to my car right now, as it sits here. The engine still works, but I mean its gonna be replaced and its gonna blow sometime soon haha.

Its not the easiest thing to do if you've never had your cluster out before. If you follow the guide you should be fine. The cables that attach to the back of the cluster are a PITA to work with if you have big hands. Gauges aren't too hard to recalibrate. Speedo- Turn car on and set to zero. Tach- Turn battery on and set to zero. Fuel- Fill up on gas and set to full. Voltage- Remember what it is at when running, and set it to the same with the car on. Same thing for oil. Temp just make sure the engine is cold and set it at the bottom. If you want, you can use a program to calibrate them, I believe it is called WinADL or something, but not sure. Good luck!
Don't pull off the needles. Just make the holes in the overlays slightly bigger than the large circular part in the fulcrum of the needle so you can slip the overlay over the needle. Then the only needle you have to pull off is the tach needle (because of the oil pressure needle), but that one's easy to set, just stick it at 0 with the engine off, key ON.
