door lock mechanism sloppy / loose

OK - here's the deal. I have power door locks, and the linkage "seems" to be loose and sloppy as all hell, even though it's supposed to be somewhat loose. As I'm driving and hit a hard bump, there is a "loose metal" noise coming from inside the door. I took the door panel off and checked for obvious damage like broken rods, etc., but found nothing out of the ordinary. The lock and handle rods seem to be pretty good and "tight", but the PDL rods and pivot point just seem to be really loose. I was thinking that maybe there was a bushing or something that broke, but I checked the other door, and although it's not quite as loose, it's the same way. I hope I'm describing this well enough, I'm just tired of hearing that noise and can't figure out why it's doing it... I'd appreciate any help and/or suggestions with this one...

I had a similar issue on mine. I am not aware of any replacement bushings for it, but when I replaced that lock all the rattling sounds went away. The door opens and closes much easier now. On my old lock there were two points where the rod was held on by some kind of metal snap ring ( not sure the name of it ). The new lock had plastic bushing and an arm that snapped around all the rods to make sure it didn't pop out. Hope that helps you some
