Tailpipe cutouts in rear bumper cover
I know that this has been addressed here before, but I have yet to find any definitive answers or pictures.
As some of you may know, I recently wrecked my car
. The rear bumper got a little scraped and will need repainted. If I don't sell the car, I figure that now would be a good time to look into cutting holes for my tailpipes so they fit nicely in there like a lot of the new cars today.
Can anyone think of any negative effects of doing this modification? I'd have to ensure that the pipes remained absolutely still... and most likely put some kind of cushioning around the edges of the cutout so it wouldn't scratch the exhaust tips.
I think that this mod would be cool with a Firebird bumper, since the license plate is not part of the taillight assembly like it is on my Camaro. Anyone know of how I could cover up the stock license plate?
And, of course, if you have any pics please post them! I think this would be an awesome mod to really update the appearance of our cars.

Yeah heat and rattling would be things to worry about. And BTW- Don't sell the car!

Thanks jobryan, I was looking for the link to his site... those cutouts look sweet. They aren't as deep as I would make mine, but perhaps that's all you really need.
