How much space is behind the dash...

How much space is behind the dash...

in the location above the radio & a/c controls area. That flat section that is just nothing. Is there any space behind that panel? Cause Im thinking about moving my radio to that locatoin. but just wondering if there is space to put it there. O_o

Unless your like me, I don't have AC, there is some room behind there. But not enough for a stereo. I use that area for override switches.

There is no space back there, about a half inch. However, if you are like me, with no A/C, then you can cut the vent out. Actually, I didnt cut it out, I just made enough space to put the EQ in, then patched up the holes with some foil tape. The EQ is only about 1.5 in. deep so... I dont know if a whole radio will fit.

Damn that sucks...oh well I guess I'll try to think of a new place to put it instead.

If your A/C ducts are out, like mine, then there should be a plethora of space. You could put a NOS bottle back there.

I would not recommend taking that piece out unless you have major patience. I did the swap last week because my old one had so many cracks. Well the new one had like 2 cracks I had fixed professional then I get the piece in there and the damn thing cracks in 3 spots. Plus its nightmare trying to get all the bolts on and getting the metal strap inside the plastic on the bottom... Never again....
