Front Bumper Cover
Front Bumper Cover
My front bumper cover, a week or so after being replaced/painted by a body shop, took some damage (mailbox). The paint flaked off the bumper cover, but not the ground effects (which i would think would take a bigger hit). Underneith the single layer of paint, there is plastic...not even primer (obviously ill-prepared paint, since it is still flaking in different places, a year later). Now this wasnt a cheap body shop either, but the local dealer shop. Anyways, the plastic underneith is black. I've seen some bumper covers that were a yellowish color. My question is, what color are the unpainted GM bumper covers? I was wondering if I actually got the GM piece I paid for, since it currently fits like a soup-sandwich. If it is a GM piece, I guess it's just because they didnt put some of the screws back in correctly or at all (which is what they did). Regardless to say, that shop does not see business from any of our 5 cars anymore...

I'm pretty sure all GM covers are dark gray or black. I think the aftermarket aka, junk covers are yellow. I have a yellow one and fits like crap, will be replacing it with a real GM cover when I repaint my car.
