Need Help Finding A Body Shop In PA

Hey I'm finally getting money to fix up my 87 IROC-Z I'm only 16 so its been going really slow. Well, I'm selling my 4-wheeler for 3500 and want to find a body shop in my area that will finish some minor body work and do a wonderful paint job that's going to be on the car for a long time since I'm never selling t no matter what my parents say. Since m gonna get some money for the 4-wheeler when it sell it I want to pay atround$3000 for someone to do that for me. Is that about right? + I cant find no one in the Erie Pennsylvania area that does restoration body work. all the places in my are do Insurance company work. Can you please help me out.

I'm in Pittsburgh so I'm not sure I can help. I can say that I visited about 7 shops before selecting one to repair my stolen and crashed Monte Carlo SS. The shops gave me the "I only work with insurance companies" story too. When they saw that I was serious about getting the car repaired and was willing and able to pay (ended up costing around $7,000), things got easier.

Pick a shop and try this: tell them to give you a thorough estimate and you would be willing to pay their labor rate for the preparation time. This will get things off on the right foot.

Go see them face-to-face.
