Hey I have an88 Firebird Auto and have a 4th gen center console out of an auto frebird. What do i have to do to get my shifter to work with the new console? Anyone ever done this? also is it a direct bolt in?

 

dont quote me on this but from my understanding you need to get a manual transmission shifter plate....some people have gotten to auto plate to work with their auto but it required moving the shifter....unless your grandmother is driving it and needs a reminder to know what gear she is in....you would prolly be best off just shoving out the cash for a manual shifter plate. btw if you do like a custom colorsheme type thing in your interior a shift boot is a nice touch
