hood lifters

Does anyone know the rating (How much they push) of the hood lifters cause mine don t keep the hood open anymore but they still seem to have some pressure in them and I m not sure if the previous owner installed too weak ones.

it's most likely they arn't weak but the gas seems to leak out after a year, they are 20 a piece or something like that at pepboys

anyone know what those clips are called which are used to attach them to the hood?

In the Haynes manual they are called "retainer clips".
