FB Interior Swap into Camaro
Hi All,
Hope someone here can help me out. Have an 87 Firebird that I am parting out and someone is interested in purchasing the interior panels, seat belts, and carpet for an 88 camaro. I think that it all should physically fit, but have never tried it. Anyone out there have any experience with this? Also the TA has the electric motor latch, so the panel has the bulge to cover it. Would there be any issues with that?
I need an answer quick since if I sell it, I am meeting her at the TA Nats in Dayton Saturday with the parts.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Wayne

Anything in the interior I believe is interchangeable, except anything associated with the dash. Dash pad, underdash panels, those won't swap. Wait, actually the driver's side underdash will swap, (done it) but not the passenger side.
Camaros also came with electric hatch.

I personally own an 83 Camaro that had (note had) a compete interior from an 87 Trans Am. Bought it that way.
So yes it will fit, Keep in mind tho that the Camaro will have a speedo cable and the Firebird (If it has gages) will have an electronic speedo. The base firebird with the idiot light package (No gages) I believe used a speedo cable.

As for the hatch pulldown, thingie, you might be better off forgetting it if the car did not originally come with it. The bolt pattern is different for each of them and welding some brackets for something that drives people nuts anyway seems strange.
The only way that I can forsee is if you got a pulldown from a 92, they I THINK used the same bolt pattern as the early style without the pulldown.

Thanks,
Thanks to everyone for the info, was able to complete the sale.
As for the rear pulldown hatch, it turns out the camaro also had the motor, just did not know that at the time of my first post.
