windshield replacement

recently my car was hit in the drivers door, well since the windshield had been leaking ,this is time to have that problem fixed, well the shop broke the original while pulling it,and told me it was of the older laminated style, anyway, got a new one at the shop cost, and the trim put on was pulled to tight on driver side, leaving a gap,it lipped over the channel and actually looked nice except that one corner, well took it back, and they pulled that trim and put in another,it's worse, looks like s%^&,and was told the windshield was not centered good in the channel as to why the molding is coming up,anyway it's going back again, anybody else had this kind of problem?????and what is the best/most correct windshield molding??
