Camaro Spoiler

SINCE, I am more into Firebirds than camaro's I really do not know the differences as much as I would for a firebird.

Anyway, I have an 83 SC with a spoiler, its the basic one that was stock on it and looks pretty much like every other Camaro Spoiler with the exception of hte 88 RS and 91-92 Z28 Spoiler

My question is this, are all Camaro 3rd gen spoilers the same, or did they change slightly through the years? (With the exception of the 88RS and 91-2 Z28)

John

Pretty good question if ya ask me,...I kinda wondered that myself. Kinda like, is there any difference in the height of the spoilers that had the third brake light mounted in the spoiler (90 models) vs spoiler without third brake light (92 models). It looks to me like the ones with the third brake light in the spoiler looks taller.

Well....this is what I have heard......

from 1982-1986, all of the Z28's and RS Camaro's had a smaller spoiler......(the width that is). Starting in 1987-1990.....all of the Z28's and IROC-Z's got the "CHMLS" spoiler (not sure what it really means or stands for) and was optional on the LT and the Sport Coupe Camaro's....it was a little bit wider then the spoilers used from 1982-1986. In 1991, they dropped the "CHMLS" spoiler on the RS and the RS Camaro's came with the smaller spoiler (width that is) like the spoilers used on the 1982-1986 Camaro's....Z28's and RS's. And of coarse, from 1991-1992 the Z28's were equipped with the AERO package.....or the "highrise" spoiler.

The 87 thro 90 3 peace Spoilers or as 84customZ28 called it CHMLS had the ThirdBrake light in them Thats why it was Wider than the 82-86 and 91-92 RS.
