Headlights actuators keep spinning
Ok im reading all these post about the gears being stripped and that means that the motor will spin but the light will NOT go up. Right?
My problem is that the motor will spin, the head light goes up, and the motor will then spin for a extra 5-6 seconds. Its kinda embarrasing and anoying. Does the same thing going down too, and its only the drivers side thats doing it.
Anyone have suggestions?

Your motor is on its way out. It's not the electrical part of it, but the material inside that acts like a clutch on the main gear. When it starts to come apart the motor will keep spinning and the gear will freewheel. I would imagine that pretty soon you'll find the motor making noise, but the light doesn't move. When that happens you can either replace the motor (expensive) or buy a rebuild kit (cheap). There's a guy somewhere on the boards who sells a rebuild kit.

If your headlight motors run without stopping, yet they fail to raise or lower the headlights, my headlight rebuild kits will solve your problem. If the motor doesn't run you may have a problem with the wiring or controller. Inside the headlight motor unit is a large nylon gear that is driven by the worm gear on the motor shaft. This nylon gear had 3 solid gel inserts that transfer the load from the gear to a 3-lobe cast hub that is part of the actuator shaft. These inserts harden and crumble with age, breaking down to roughly a spoonful of crumbs. When this happens the hub will just free wheel on the gear. Two versions of my headlight repair kit are available. 207280 ($5.50) has 3 precision machined close tolerance Delrin bushings that replace the OEM gel inserts. New zinc plated washer-head machine screws and nuts are also included to mount the motor (they often snap off on removal). Also included are detailed instructions. 208280 ($9.95) also includes the side cover and motor mount gaskets. E-mail me at: topdownsolutions@yahoo.com to order either kit. I have a special running currently. If two kits are ordered, I include a 1.5 oz. tube of Permatex WL-9 white lithium grease (normally $2.50) for free. The grease has a nozzle tip which is perfect for greasing the internal components. You don't even have to get your hands greasy.

yea, buts thats what i dont understand. THEY DO RAISE THE LIGHTS. But when the drivers side is up all the way, it spins for a extra 5-6 seconds and same when it goes down.

It sounds as it the gel inserts are borderline on yours. The headlight units are load-sensing. It has to sense the headlight hitting the end of travel, then it shuts off the current to the motor. If the gel inserts are not as strong as they were originally it will transfer a soft feel at the end of the stroke unitil it finally shuts off. Take the unit apart and you'll see the gel inserts have deteriorated. If it were me, I'd rather have a repair kit in-hand to repair them at that time. Rather than putting it back together, ordering the kits and doing the job all over again.
