Door Locks (Help)

Are the door locks on a 1986 trans am easy to fix. The driver side door won;t unlock with the key. It will not turn or anything. The passenger side works alright. Yesturday I replased the fuses and the passenger side will look but it will not unlock . It moves a little to unlock the door but not enough so the door will be unlock. The driver side dosen't even work . This weekend I plan on taking the door panels off and giving it a lookey . Anybody knows what is wrong with them.

I had the same problem, except mine eventually froze and busted so I had to get new ones. They're easy to replace. All you have to do is take off the lock ring like thing on the back of them and they fall right out. The lock think looks like the breather filter lock ring on the outside of the air cleaner if you have a carb, It also looks like the lock ring holding you lock in you locking compartment in your "trunk". Takes about an hour total to change them both, longest part is trying to take off the door panel without breaking stuff.

PS and you will have to use white litium grease to make the power part of the locks work again, mine are still sticking but I can open them just fine with the key.
