Window squeal..........

'86 T/A......................

Anybody out there know the cause of squeal when the window goes up or down. It appears to me that its the felt covered adjustment thingies that push the glass outward. It does it all the way up and all the way down, door open or closed. It drives me nuts....... My felt things are worn, but is it really comming from the friction on them?

things to check...

make sure you do not have a guide that is too tight, also make sure you have ample grease on your tracks...

My bet would be the felt guides are too tight, and your hearing that... What happens is It creates a harmonic in the window and thats what your hearing, its essentially the same thing as when you take a goblet and make it ring by wetting your finger and going around the top edge...
