fixed leaking weatherstrip at door front

well, i was tired of water leaking in at the front of the doors. where the window goes into that triangle shaped holder the weather stripping was there but compressed. i'm sure it happens to alot of f-bodies. since the doors are always shut keeping it there. we i bought a can of that expanding foam called stuff. i made a small slit to fit the hose into the weatherstrip center and filled her up with a bit. kept the door open while the stuff dried and tried it out. no more leaks, no more water dripping down the front of the door panels. a cheap fix until i can afford a weather strip kit. now for the small t-top leak.

I think that stuff might be very hard to remove later. It seems impossible to get off your hands or whatever.

yankeecarmen, even if its hard to remove it wont matter because if you are removing it you will be replacing it anyways. i really hope this fixes the wind noise and the water leak on my passenger side.

ok here is what i did. right below the spot where the weather strip is compressed i made a slit in the weather strip big enough to put the hose on the stuff canister in. then i filled it with some stuff. i used a exacto blade to make the hole. there should be no problem removing it when the weather stripping is taken off the stuff is inside the center of the weather stripping. the door weather stripping has a hollow center with foam all the way around. there is like an air tunnel inside and that is where the stuff will go. this stuff is stickey and hard to get off your hands but the good part about that is, the stuff that leaks out will seal the hole you made in the weather strip. i just stood there for a while and kept wiping the excess with a cloth. make sure not to close the doors for a few hours to let it dry expanded. if you need any more help just ask away.
