Hatch pull down motors the same on birds as camaro ???

I thought they were the same , but doesn't a bird have a cable running from the key mech and the camaro just has a post ??

They're the same. I used one from my Camaro in my GTA. Both have a cable running from the key lock.

all are the same styles changed in 87 and 91 but they are interchangable within those years

Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27
1986-87 and 1988-91 hatch pull-down units have minor construction differences, but are essentially interchangeable, (you'd have to swap the power connector on the blue wire to make them completely interchangeable). Some units have a solenoid hatch release, others just a manual one. But either one can be swapped or added to the unit. 1991 had a mid-year change to a unit with a plastic molded housing instead of the previous metal frame construction. That version continued through 1992. To my knowledge, the only part compatible between it and the prior versions is the gear nut. There is no difference between Firebird and Camaro units.
