hatch misalignment fix?

I think I have a common problem, but not a simple answer. My hatch pretrudes out further than the spoiler end caps at each end. I think the previous owner may have tampered with the original settings, because of a defective power latch. Does anyone have any simple solutions? I checked the tech board, but I don't think any of the post apply. I've enclosed a pic for reference. Thanks in advance.

Here is another pic that shows what I think is an excessive gap between the hatch glass and roof line.

I read that already, and I'm still confused as to what causes this misalignment.

yea same here, my dad and i were going to put on the 3 piece spoiler i got for my car, but we cant do that till the hatch is aligned, read the tech article and got way too confused... so we just put it off since theres more important work to do, but still lol

is it a misalignment with that body colored piece attached to the glass? or is it the whole entire hatch piece thats causing the problem? looking at that second picture, reminds me that my car's hatch is really separated from the car like that too, will playing with adjustments up there do it?

After years of shutting your hatch the deck lid slides back from the hatch glass. How is the gap between both sides of the top of the hatch to roof. It could be your hinges are outta wack. But if it isnt then you need to take off the hatch struts with the hatch all the way open. Then unbolt the decklid from the hatch frame and slide it back into place and while your at it you should put all new silicone inbetween the glass and decklid to prevent any leaks. Its pretty simple once you read it like 20 times like I did until I figured it out.
