messed up hatch

I bought an 87 T/A and the hatch is about an inch off. Do you think this was just malpractice, or he was trying to hide something? I guess my best bet would be to try fixing it and see what happens.

If you mean it doesn't line up with the quarters right at the rear, its normal...they typically overhang slightly. It has some adjustment in it, but you'll probably have to strip off the old sealant and reseal with butyl tape and urethane sealer to prevent leaks. Not a big deal, but get some help to prop up the glass while you work. Two people, or even three, makes this job not so bad.

This doesn't seem like the normal overhang. Many people have made comments on it. Oh well, I'll try it. Can't hurt anything. Thanks.

I have seen them off over half an inch before, so hopefully its the typical factory misalignment. Good luck!
