Repair for door llock cylinder hole?

Someone broke into my car by using a screw driver and hammer and punching the lock cylinder out of the door. Now I have a door with a notch punched out of the metal and no way to replace the lock cylinder.

Anyone have any ideas? Could I weld up around the hole and grind it back to correct size, or would the heat be too much for a door skin? Replace the door skin? Replace the entire door?

Any advice is appreciated.

Damned thieves!!

Same thing happened to my car. I plan on just replacing the door. I don't have any welding skills or anything...

You could probably go ahead and weld it, and clean up the hole. Eastwood sells a tool that crimps the cylinder hole depression (or flat if need be). Might give that a try. It's pretty cheap (<$20) IIRC..
