Momo steering wheel removeable?
Momo steering wheel removeable?
After seeing Powermite's Momo Millenium steering wheel, I WANT ONE. I'm planning on buying one now, but before that, I was wanting a reoveable steering wheel. Is there a way to make this wheel removeable? Can I get a hb adapter that will allow the wheel to be removed with a key so I can take it in to my house at night? Thanks for any info! Matt

Removable Hub
You could use the removalbe type of hubs used in open cockpit cars. I know Sparco makes one possible OMP and maybe momo. They are like three times the price though. It would be nice safety feature to be able to remove your wheel when going out and parking your car some where.
I always liked the idea of removing the steering wheel, but it's just a plain PITA having to carry it around whenever you want to feel the car is safe (or the steering wheel). I think a better idea would be to fashion a hub that, with the turn of a key, would lock the wheel onto the column and disable it from actually steering the car; as if the steering wheel were freely spinning on the column. THAT is something I would buy.

Try this link. I found them when I was looking at MOMO wheels. They have removable hub kit specifically for MOMO wheels, although they note that they are for "off road use only". That may be the case with other brands as well.
