as far as stock hoods go.... i think the best hoods are 1991-92 Z28 hoods with the louvers are the best lookin ones. IROC hoods are pretty cool too though...

I too love the 91-92 Power Blister hoods....i mean....thats what my 91 Z28 came with...I ended up getting $250.00 out of the stock hood. I'm just kind of creating my own monster...only ONE other person around here has an SS hood....so..I want people to know exactly who it is when they see/hear me coming.... .....plus...the fender louvers will set it off too...

Maybe I'm just insane, but I LOVE my flat RS hood. I had the louvered hood on my '85 Z and it was a PITA to keep dirt and debris out from under and around the plastic pieces. My hood has a smoother appearance IMHO.

yeah youre insane...its cool though you have to be to drive a Maro :sillylol: ... really though...im sick of my flat boring hood. a freind of mine at my school has a burgundy 92 Z28 with the blisters... those things just give the car a bulky, sporty, badass in your face appearence.... (in my humble opinion) and i want that look and that hood.

Thanks Spdfrk! The pic dosen't do them justice though, plus they were dirty when I snapped the pic. You can hardly even tell that they are polished too, usually, you can use them to shave in!! LOL!

Ok so back to the real topic

If GM did make a real thirdgen SS what does everyone think it would have over a 91-92 Z28 or Iroc???

My idea of a GM styled Third gen SS would have a 275hp 350 (with vette heads), slightly beefed up rear end and trans, special badging, interior, paint scheme/colors, maybe a functional blister or louver hood, Sub Frame Connectors, better suspension........actually now that I think of it a Third Gen SS would basically be the Camaro version of the Thridgen Firehawk, which I think would be better then what I just listed.

I wouldn't do that vanity plate since you can also word it out to be "Just for LICKS"

I will have an SS hood tomorrow when UPS gets here! Can't wait to get it put on and painted.

I might just have to make my car an SS. I have been wanting to buy some new rims anyway, so I might just look into some SS wheels.

Nice! well i dunno about UPS sometimes but... oh well...

SS wheels huh? in my opinion i think the best lookin SS rims for a fourth gen are the 5 spoke ZR-1 rims... The 10 spoke SS rims from i think 00-01 SS look OK, but thirdgens were made for 5 spokes... just my 2 cents.

Totally what i want to eventually happen to my car, I think me and 84camroZ28 would probably end up with the same car if we both could do what we want..accept mine would still be green and not have a wing. Putting 18 in C5 wheels on it (maybee TT II's) and want to put LS1/T56 in it with 4th gen rear. If chevy actually made one tho Im guessing it would be about the same as the firehawk...since thats how they are now..or i guess where (sniffle sniffle) Ronal rims, probably SS hood like the ASCD, SLP...

BOO this man!.... BOOO!

just playin... yeah it only looks cool, i think, on the 91's & 2's cuz of the high rise spoiler and GFX... and only if its functional! i like the 91-2 blisters on the hood better though... i dunno ... as long at it can leave a stang its fine by me...

I agree, I'm totally a fan of the blisters. I added the hood blisters to a stock flat hood.

(Note: I have since removed the rear window louvers and tinted the windows...)

howd you get the blisters on? did you cut the hood at all or just placed them on top or what?

3 small holes for each blister. They were sealed and made sure that there will be no rust that could occur. I have heard horror stories of people who flat mounted the blisters and they flew off... I wanted to make sure these bad boys were secured. If you pull the fire blanket off the inside of the hood you will see the place were the IROC lovers would have gone.

Since I use to own a '69 SS Pace car this '86 became my new SS. Actually there was a SS third gen but it was a aftermarket car sold with GM approval thru Choo Choo Customs. Just had a few dress up items but no new horses or anything.

I was going to get the SS hood but got a deal on the ASCD Turbo I could not pass up. Since the next paint job with ghost flames is coming early summer I am thinking of putting the blisters on and removing the louvers but maybe not. Both look good to me and I like the SS hood. In fact only hood i don't like is the flat RS/base hood. UGH! Anyway i got the badges and get lot's of looks and comments but few want to race and see if i am sleeper(which i am) or for show. Especially the Ford/**** crowd.
