How much voltage can the interior lights take?
I am thinking of adding lights that come on or can be switched on in my sail panels in the back seat to give a little more light to my convertible. As you probably know there is VERY little light available in a convertible at night. What I want to do is just add the lights (making custom panels) and run them directly off of the power source for the lights in the foot well that come on when the door opens. Can it handle it?
Thanks

It's not a matter of voltage, it's about how many amps you will be trying to pull through the stock wiring. If you only wanted to add a couple more lights you should be o.k., so long as they're the same size/wattage as the other bulbs. If you're wanting to go with more lights or bigger ones, then you may want to run a wire from the batter to power those. Then you could wire a relay in with the factory lights so that when they came on it would turn on the others as well. Just remember that you can run into trouble it you try and run a dozen different things off the same wire.

Cool thanks. HITHERE am adding about HITHERE 1/2 inch to my sail panels in the back to get 6x9's in better and thought that HITHERE light back there would be great.
