i need a new drivers side door lock and i was wondering how much they cost from gm? and anybody got any part numbers? and last how hard is it to change and how long will it take? thanks alot

 

16608235 is the driver's side.

Best thing for you to do though is go to a local GM dealer and ask them for one with a key to fit it.

 

it is not that hard to change. the most time consuming part is taking the door panel off. all that holds the lock on is a metal clip. there's also a metal rod that you gotta take off the lock and then just slide the metal clip off and the door lock comes right out. i would see about getting a door lock that will fit your current key. If they can't do that, then you could either buy both door locks and one for the trunk all together or get a locksmith to make the new lock work with your key. I'm in the same boat i'm just 200 miles from my car so i can do anything with it yet.
