Guys how in the heck do I get the wipers to stop chattering?? The wipers are fairly new and the damn chattering is driving me up a wall. Any tips would be appreciated...thanks.

How much water is on the windshield when you turn on the wipers? Mine will chatter if there isnt enough water on the windshield to keep the blades lubed while moving.

re chattering
have a look at the arm that holds the wiper blade. I suspect that this has a lot of movement, which will cause the problem you described.
Solution is to replace your wiper arm, which should be a cheap fix and the annoying chattering is gone.

I've used almost every replacement wiper blade that is available in the auto stores from Anco to Bosch and they all chattered even after the windshield was thoroughly cleaned with bon-ami.
One day I was at Target and saw some wiper blades that looked promising and I tried them and they are the best blades I have ever used. The blades no longer chatter (water or no water) and I've had them on the car for about a year and a half with no problems.
I forgot the name of the blades but, Target only carrys a few brands. Just don't buy the common name ones like Anco or Trico. They were about $8-$9 each and says on the packaging something about chattering. and are usually found at the end of the aisle.

In my experience, chattering wipers are more a function of foreign material on the windshield more than the wiper blades themselves.
Make sure the windshiled is CLEAN. Water should sheet off the glass, not bead. If water beads, the glass isn't clean.
Bon-Ami powder is a good cleaner. Sprinkle on, wet slightly to make a paste and scrub, scrub scrub. Rinse and repeat a few times until the rinse water sheets off the glass. You might be able to find a good glass cleaner at the local glass shop too.
Just my opinion, but stay away from stuff like Rain-X. When this stuff gets a little "old" it makes your wipers chatter like crazy. The only way to make it stop is to replace the wiper blades and go through the scrubbing process a few times.
