SS Hood

Now is the ss hood from ascd, a funtional hood or is it mainly for loooks? You know the ram air part of it, does it have an opening to let to air through?

The one I got has the hole blocked off, but you can cut it out to make it functional. That is what esams did to his. He even made a little scoop to put on the underside for when he is racing.

Mine was cut. I think you can get it either way but I was never asked.

My SS hood has 4 holes cut out behind the screen. It would be easy to cut the rest of it out. I don't think any company has made a functional airbox for the SS hood....there isn't much room for one underneath. I noticed my under hood temps drop about 15 degrees with the SS hood....cold air comes in through the SS scoop....and and warm air releases out of it while sitting after driving.

I always thought that the hoods came with the scoop already cut out.
