bmw 325i seats

ok, here's my problem: i'm 6'5" and there just isn't enough headroom and legroom in my '89 firebird for me. i need at least 3 inches more of rearward travel and need the seat to sit at least 2 inches lower in the car.

i've looked at 4th gen seats, but sitting in a 96 camaro, i didn't notice much of an improvement.

i was riding in a new bmw 325i today and was amazed at the seats. they were power seats, which i figured would mean they'd sit higher in the car, but they went unbelivably low! even better, those seats have at least twice the front-rear travel of my firebird's.

i did notice that the brackets sit flat on the floor. i'm thinking the trans tunnel in my car would make that impossible, but even allowing for bending the tabs on the tunnel side and spacing the brackets up on the door side to match, i still believe these seats would sit lower than mine.

has anyone looked at this or put these seats in their car?

I think he meant PITA.

If you feel you could fab up the brackets to fit your car, then I say go for it. I bet those seat are much more comfortable than the 4th gens that I have.

I have a set of 4th gen seats in my Z and the improvement over stock was amazing or so I thought, until I drove my wifes new 325ci. They are the sport seats and I agree with you about the amount of movement in the seats. I say if you can afford a set the brackets shouldnt be that hard.

looking on ebay, they don't seem much more expensive than a set of 4th gen seats. how cool would it be to have a set of those with all of the adjustments and heat, too?

on a cold day, i'd trade a hot night with a good woman for a set of heated seats!

well, maybe not.
