how much would my 1989 305 tbi firebird weigh around and was wondering how much weight would this take off of the car with the following mods.

1.Left and right fiberglass fenders
2.Fiberglass hood
3.fiberglass door skins passanger and drivers side
4.Lexan t tops
5.Fiberglass bumper cover
6.Take off the front and rear bumper
7.light weight glass set replaces all the glass.
8.Aluminum cyclinder haeds
9.aluminum radiator
10.take out the spare tire and the rear seat/
11.take out all the interior and just leave the shifter das and 2 seats

if some body has some answers i would reall like to hear because these are my plans for my bird.

You know that for a fact? I was under the assumption that the mounting is different, the senders and wiring are different - from what I recall, everything is different. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just wondering if you know it's been done or if you've just heard it can be done.

Instead of all that weight savings........Swap out the 305 TBI for a 350 TPI

Steve. I know for a fact Fatal88's done it, but his car is entirely 4th gen internals. There was a thread a few monthes back about someone putting it on a third gen. The physical design is supposedly the exact same, but there were some issues with the sending unit. Check for that thread, I'm not sure if it was ever resolved or not.
