Go an auto paint and body supply store. Get some various grit scoctchbright pads......hit it with those. If necessary get some fine grit sandpaper.

Then buy some of SEM plastic / vinyl trim stuff. They make a "prep" or etcher, and then they make a wax / grease surface stripper and then they make the actual dye. A good shop can even sell it to you with one of those small, disposable sprayers and it will work and look MUCH better than any off the shelf spray paint.

I think the scothbrite will scratch it up pretty bad. It is going to be difficult to find a solvent to remove it. You can try a little lacquer thinner in a very inconspicuous spot that is painted. Be careful though-- just dampen the rag and go slow in a blotting motion, don't be in a hurry. Then try to wipe over the spot with Armor all to see if the luster will come back. Let it sit for a while and see if it retained the shine. What happens is the thinner will dry the **** out of the plastic causing it to turn white. Like I said, try this in small spot first out of sight incase it doesn't work. I used some sprayable carpet dye on my car a got some overspray on the console. Tried this and worked, but my spot was about as big as a quarter.

i found a way to get most of it off. since i didn't primer it before i painted it, i got a thick piece of plastic with an edge to scrape it (plastic won't scratch) and used my air compressor. in combonation with some time i think i can get most of it off this way (that is if i stay in the shade)
