Carbon Fibre TA hood

Hey guys im getting a carbon fibre hood made up for my GTA this summer and i just wanted to see if there is anyone that would be interested in one. The hood is going to be a stock GTA hood with a 2 1/2 cowl. The picture below gives you an idea of what they will look like. The hoods will cost about $675 and will be direct bolt-on. They will have a rolled edge and will be about 12lbs. Since they will be using my stock hood for the mold they promise that the hood will not have any fitment issues, so that means no added costs to get the hood filed to fit correctly.
The company that will be making these hoods is CarbonfibreFX and their based out of Surrey BC Canada. You can check out there site @ www.Carbonfibrefx.com.
Anyways let me know if anyone here is interested, the more hoods we buy the cheaper they will be. Oh, they also do coloured carbon fibre.

The hood pictured was not made by CarbonfibreFX and is fiberglass, not carbonfibre

That is very very light to be a hood, don't you think? 12 lbs? A friend of mine had one and whenever he reached higher speeds, it would rattle back and forth cause of the wind. I wouldn't recommend getting a hood that light. Just my thought.

if you had properly installed hoodpins, I would think it would be ok.

They do recomend that you install hood pins but he there hoods are extremly well built and very stable. i just had a look at a carbon Kevlar hood that he made with orange coloured kevlar for a mazda protege5 (spell) and it was only 7 or 8lbs. It was fully braced on the inside and looked very sturdy.

I would love to get my hands on a quality carbon fiber stock style hood, powerbulge or RA I hood. I don't care for cowl hoods on the birds.

same here, i don't think the cowl lines go with the lines of the car at all. a cowl isn't too bad on a camaro, but i think it's looks stupid on birds

Yeah i agree the inch cowls are ugly. The one in the pic above is a 2 1/2" cowl and that is the size that im going to have made.

I am going to call them on Monday to see when they can start making the mold. So if any of you are interested let me know asap. There is a better chance of him starting right away if he has more than one hood sold.

I meant to say the 4 inch cowls are ugly.

you should ask him about making some carbon fibre doors.

can you imagine how much weight could be saved by doing this, and also there would be no more problems with the hinges.

i am thinking of trying to make some doors, but it may be hard for a beginner

i need a new hood, but not a $675 hood. i would like to get a ra1 hood eventually, but for now i can only afford to look for a used stock hood. maybe somewhere down the road if the price goes down.
