In case you were wondering WTF I'm talking about;

 

I have taken out the cigarette lighter and in that small part, I keep quarters. In the large 'ash tray' part, I usually toss my cel phone so it doesn't fly off the passenger's seat.

 

i've found the best place for the cell phone is between the console and the emergency brake

The front ashtray is used for coins, ther rear ashtray(back of console) I turned into a light, since I have a convertible this addition has done wonders for backseat illumination when the top is up.

 

nifty. where's the switch? or does it come on with your parking/headlights?

 

Its wired into the rearview mirror/underdash lights so it comes on when the door is opened or when the dash switch is turned to the dome light position.Its a rear cargo area lamp assembly I picked up at a boneyard, I cut some plastic out of an old underdash cover to fill the opening the ashtray left, then cut a piece out of that to fit the light into. The result looks factory.

 

I sand blasted mine and made it a really nice remote holder, heh

I also ripped the round thing out for the cig...

 

Thats where I put my wallet for when I go through the drivethru and dont wanna hastle gettin it outta my back pocket... lol

Interior screws that came off my car but I can't find where
Dome light bulb (I have red neons in my car wired to the interior lights so I pulled it)
Ashes (Even though no-one smokes in my car... )

I pulled my rear ashtray to put a cigarrette lighter recepticle for my Playstation.

 

LOL that is cool! How much did yours cost *just wonderin what it retails for*? I got it very lightly used for 100 bucks from a guy at my work.... Does yours kinda have problems with the buttons? mine works fine, but works a lot easier with the remote, so i primarily use it...

 

I paid $199 new for it at Best Buy. Yes my buttons would stop working or dothe wrong thing... I cleaned the faceplate and the receiver and it fixed it.

 

Change and cell phone sits on top of the change.

cut off the ashtray part......cut peice of plexi....painted it with spray in liner....put in toggles......matches almost perfect

 

here's my soon to be installed 4thgen console, I used the ashtray for the window/mirror switch, I also have a blank plate to install extra switches (exhaust cutout/line lock, etc.)

i have a 4th gen console, if i put oins in there they fall into the console so..... coins anyway or nothing. also, for those of you that keep condoms in your car.... BAD the heat/cold will distroy them.

 

i have change, fussies, screws, a lightbulb, and recipts. in the back ash trey i have razorblades... vierd huh.. never know when u need to cut something..

I either use nothing or stick my phone in it putting some cash in there aint a half bad idea just in case you need to bribe a cop or something,

 

well no one is allowed to smoke anything in my car which really tends to **** people off. I removed the asstray and lighter so as not to temp people. I fill it now with quarters though. And who ever said it adds up is right. I got like 30 bucks outta there. Lol also I keep my cell phone lodged between the console and e-brake. I thought I was the only one that was that ghetto. I could always buy one of those type-r cell phone holders but I would then have to cut off my nuts with a rusty nail clipper..........

I dont think Ive even opened mine? Ive heard 1 too many storys of the spring breaking and then you cant shut it. If it was for anything, it would be a recesed gauge pod or for switches.

 

I have my cutout switch stuffed in there, I havn't bothered to mount it nice and neatly, because it never gets closed

 

i use mine to hold my radar detector cord..

i dunno where the actual ash tray part went.....

A storage tray for the cigarette lighter when I use the 12VDC plug-in for my phone charger... then it's empty when I'm done.

 

I have the fan and lock up switches in there. I also have room for the line lock if I ever get around to putting it in. Very clean and you'd never know anything was there with it closed.

 

I use mine to hold a bunch of quarters.

i just got a 4th gen auto console in it, and there's no room for the ash tray... i can just see my transmission cords.

 

Here I thought I was being clever putting a switch in my ashtray :-( Anyway my lockup switch for my 700r4 was in there, going to have to find a new use for it now that the 700's gone :-P

 

NOTHING! I had to empty out my entire console b/c everything made rattle noises when my subwoofers hit

 

i put my remote in there, I put my keys in there once for some reason than closed it, couldnt find my keys for like a day lol

 

SuperchargedRS's story reminds me of one time i put my drivers liscence in the ashtray and it fell through to underneath the radio, that was interesting.
