? about side window glass removal

i have to replace the "f" channel in my driver side door which entails removing the glass to replace this part. my question is basically how difficult is this to do? i see that the fasteners are of a foreign (to me) nature, then there's the actual removal, etc. how much weight should i expect, etc. it looks as though once the fasteners are removed from the channel, that the glass just lifts out of the channel.

while i'm at it, the window motor is starting to go as well, so any benefits to changing it while the glass itself is out? it's been replaced once before, so i don't have to deal with the rivets issue...

thanks for any help... i was going to take my car in to have the window motor replaced, but since i'm gonna tackle the channel replacement, might as well try doing the motor, too.
