Dash Swap

Ok I have a 86 IROc with a mint dash and 145 speedo that was in an accident in January. With the insurance money i bought a 89 IROC with a cracked dash and a 115 speedo. I know that i can swap them because they are both cable driven. Well I unbolted everything in the 86 but it does not want to come out. I know that it is the wires for the gauge cluster that I need to get out but I cant seem to get to them. I need to know how to get to them with out breaking my dash. I could use any advise or steps about the removal and instalation so it goes fast and easy.
Thanks
Kevin

The wires dont hold it, if you are sure you got all the screws (those around the edge and the 10 MM ones down by the lights) you still have the speedometer cable to contend with, good luck getting to it, as it is a challenge, but basically you have to push the tab towards the rear of the car and then the cluster will come out.

Ok my only problem is the speedo cable. Do I just pull on it till it comes out or what?

There is a tab on the back of the speedometer, it is shaped like this ) and it covers the flange on the cable, you have to push the tab towards the rear of the car from the back side to release the cable.
