Help!!! How to remove the glass from inside the door?

I want to remove the glass and regulator assembly from my doors in order to put on new door skins.

I'd like to gut the whole thing out so I can clean and re-grease the channels and rollers etc.

Can you remove the glass and regulator assembly from the door as a complete unit? Or, do you have to drill out the butterfly rivits that are attached to the glass/regulator assembly to get everything out?

How do the body shops do it?

your best bet is to drill out the rivets and remove the glass from the top and the rail and track through the access hole in the door.

Dang it, I was afraid of that. I tried practicing on some windows at a junkyard and you just can't do it without scratching the crap out the glass and the door.

I wish GM used bolts instead of those darn rivits to hold the glass on.

Very easy to remove the door glass on a Corvette though. A couple of bolts and out she comes. Nissan and Toyota the same way.

I think I removed it all by sliding the regulaor rollers off the window track, then pulled the reg through the opening, the I pulled all the belt moulding off, pulled the mirror, pulled the triangle piece at the front, then the window just barely fits out if you tilt the front up and slide the track on the window through the wide spot where the triangle piece was
