I needed a new drivers side door for my car. I went to the local salvage yard and found a door in perfect condition except the one in the yard has power locks and power mirrors. My car does not have these (I would like to have them!) Now, I have not gone out and got the door yet. My concerns are the wiring to the door. Does all the electrical from the door just plug in some where under the dash? Would I need to pull all the wiring from the car in the yard to accomplish this or is a type of “plug and play”? Any advice would help. I will be going to the yard this Sat. Thank you.

I would pull all the wiring from the donor car.
My friend added power locks to his 86 Z a few weeks ago and we got all the wiring and the relay from a buddies parts car.

I was afraid I would have to do that. I have an 84 Camaro Berlinetta and the car is an 84 Camaro Berlinetta so I will do a little “get to know the wiring” in my own car tomorrow before I go to the junkyard. I wish the car were accessible other than the junkyard. If I could just pull the extra wires for the additional power items (locks and mirrors) I would. I forgot to mention that my door only has power windows.

If you wanna run all the wires like factory, it will be a lot of work, especially for the mirrors.
The stock wiring for the power locks run from the pass side door, behind the dash in a loom right on the firewall to the drivers side and to a relay in the drivers side kick panel area.
3 wires for the switch and 2 for the actuator on both sides.
I didn't do any of the wiring, I was basically overseeing the project and anwering any questions my friend had with the wiring.
