the guys at my local oil changing shop, said that my undercarage was too rusted to be put on the lift..... that doesnt sound like a good thing! what are some things i could do to fix this if theres any, and if not should i just paint my 83 z and sell it? thanks!

You wouldnt happen to have any pics?
When you drive the car does it feel all creaky and flex alot? If its really really bad I would sell it and get a better 3rdgen with no rust. If its just some rust holes in the passenger compartment it should be ok to put on a lift. If there is no frame rail rust it should be ok, but if there is rust holes in the frame rails I wouldnt risk it.

 

well i do hear some minor creeking when i drive it, from what i can see theres definetly no rust holes in the frame or anything for that matter. but when my dad and i went to raise the front right wheel with a jack, it seemed like the passenger side frame started bending so we let it down imediatly. another incident happened when i tried jacking up the rear right wheel, when i got almost high enough for the wheel to leave the groudn i heard something POP, definetly let it down fast that time. im just afraid to put too much money into and have the back end start shifting on me or what not. if i do decide to sell it, i would buy another camaro for sure, hopefully not another cfi
