Speedometer working but odometer isn't ??
Just as the title says. I have no idea what it could be. The car is an 86 T/A with a 700R4.
From what I've been told, it has a speedo cable and that it works both the speedo. and odo.

Welcome to typical/common thirdgen problems. I suspect that 75% of all trip odometers are broken (the mechanism inside the speedo head is fabricated from plastic). I've heard they're repairable, but I have no personal experience.

same here,i hate anything outta place & anything broken on mine too....might wanna try the electronics board..might get some more info on it...i know i had my "strange azz question" moved there & got some good responses...just a suggestion My trip odometer is broken too. I asked about it before and was told you can't fix it. I would love to know how to though. Try to find one off ebay or somewhere like that is all I can say.
Had that happen to my Bird once. All I did was drop the cluster, pull out the speedo and just blow it out--worked fine after that.
Might be some plastic debris from the plastic gears inside or just a large piece of dust or something.
